Am i supposed to delete the original audio folder?

And i love BF2 man. ty for this. Can you make one from Project Reality sounds? I especially like their ricochet sounds.

Yeah, i cant get mine to work. =/ Sorry, im not experienced at this. The most i've ever done was add a mod to my Battlefield games. I almost broke BF2 by adding a V22 Osprey.

never again...

No, except if you actually want to delete the original folder.

Recently, Victor wrote a Mod Packaging Guide, where it is explained how to install this kind of mod without delete already existing files.

Hopefully, I forgotten to validate this post before test...

Actually, this mod can't work in its current state, the original audio file are in the ogg format and the ones of this package are in the wav format.

When it try to open pain2.ogg (for example), it open this file if it's possible but it will not try to open pain2.wav

There is an other reason which prevent the mod to work : it's structure. It isn't at at all the correct structure. A mod doesn't need to have all the folder containing changeable files but the game will not search in the folder packages/audio/weapons a file supposed to be in the folder packages/audio/sounds/weapon

When ACR try to open a file at using a mod, if it doesn't find the correct file at the correct place in the mod, it use the defaut file.

About the file content, the character voice which can be found in several of them is, ok, more realistic than it's equivalent in the current default/original files but, according to me, it's too virile. I don't dislike this voice. Actually, I like it and if, a day, different models are used for male and female fighters, this voice will be correct for the males but it seems the currently used model was choosen partly because it's impossible to determinate the gender (male or female) of the character in its clothes.

The content of the other files is also nice.

About the right of author, if what you say about it is right, xdEpiczombie, you must add in the mod folder a text file that explain it. The content (and maybe the name) that must be in the file depend on the exact source defining this right. I don't know enough about it to says more about it now...

What I said to DeltaStrikeOp at the beginning of this post remain correct with correctly made mods.
Actually, the modder is supposed to package it that way.
Thanks asmanel

Yeah, i had doubts looking at the sound format. I mean, ACR was programmed to read .ogg files. But I think I expected it to work b/c xdEpiczombie finalized it, therefore it should work. So i need to find a .ogg file converter?
DeltaStrikeOp I can convert them for you(or give you a bash script to do so if you have ffmpeg and are running linux. I could also make it python for windows also)
You don't have to convert anything.Move .wav files to the folder it has to go.ACR loads wav files automaticly and You don't have to overwrite anything
Wait wait, so all i do is move the current files? what?

@ruler501
Yeah, i run Windows. It'd be cool if you send me a program to convert the files

@xdEpiczombie
I'll try deleting the old .ogg files and move your .wav files over then.

but er, yeah, xdEpiczombie, i'd appreciate it if you sent a list of instructions as to what to do. =)

EDIT: nvm, got it to work. i love it! The sounds are so much beefier than the original AC sounds. I actually will stand by this sound pack and suggest that ACR have this in 2.5.8. @Victor and Ruler501, will you consider this sound pack? It will make this game that much more different than original AC.
WTF.you don't have to delete anything.Move the files to the specific folder and the game loads the files it self.If u want you can delete the oggs but its no neccesary!(I recomend to not delete them becouse its easier to uninstall the mod,just delete the.Wavs)
I will test it out, but I'm not sure if it will be added. What are the licenses for the sounds themselves?
To try it I just have to put it in a folder in the acr one and launch acr with --mod=sounds or something like that right? I haven't really looked at mods yet.
