@rXn, cube 1 and 2 have different maps, and therefore are incompatible. In order for the protocol to match, all weapons and damage (projectiles) must be dealt in the same way.

@xdEpiczombie, if you've read the links to the project pages, you can see that Real Eclipse already has a decent logo.

I don't have much time, so you should run the Real Eclipse Facebook page. Just change the logo to our current one (for now).
@Victor, I know but that logo is too small for a Profile picture in FB!
@@xdEpiczombie, when I create Real Eclipse's files, I'll add a link to the logo source:
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/E...tent=71546

Click the "download" button to get the 256x256 icon.
I just discovered in Red Eclipse something that is, according to me, a bad idea : the game write files in a folder which is outside from the game folder, in a place that seems to be predefined and I don't know if redefine it is possible.

I hope this functionality will not be implemented in Real Eclipse.
Real Eclipse will be portable, just like ACR.
It would be nice if you go and upload the red eclipse source so we could start modify :p
heres an upgraded loading screen w/ xdEpicZombie's logo:

Well, if I fork Red Eclipse's code now, who's going to constantly backport every change that Red Eclipse does?
Maybe look at it the other way round: If we are in the state of "wait-what-they-do-and-copy-it", we will never start. There was a bigger update release of Sauerbraten/Cube2/Red Eclipse just at the beginning of this year, and who knows when they will do the next...It is quite impossible to wait for them to stop releasing like AC did.
Imo you should upload that stuff now. The engine did not have any world-changing changes during, let's say, 2-3 years, so we can do it now as well as anytime else. But if we don't start, we will never be ready Sad .

PS: What about putting all the stuff to a password-protected svn/git/whatyouwant and write the password here? It might save some troubles with people thinking we would just copy Red Eclipse. If it has grown enough, we go and make it public.
It's already public, so I'm going to start by setting up its website and forum.
