When you add the iframe please keep in mind that the chat widget doesn't have any kind of frame.

I was thinking that chat.forum.acr.victorz.ca is required for cookie purposes (chat. is a subdomain of the forum) but I'll just change the DNS record.

It is somehow woring, but with those cookie things you might be right: Having the cookie from the "original" Irc saved, it connects (even with your name!), otherwise it also connects, but tells yuo to login. I don't think I'll do something against it today, but tomorrow I should hvae time. The other stuff is working fine, even though it refused to do so at first.
//OT: Did you/someone else take a look at the freenode iframe for website in-build irc? Don't knwo howit works or what it does as I did not try it, but seems to be worth a look.

I don't get what you mean, but the reason why it currently isn't working is me screwing up with the sql file i sent you and forgetting two columns, for the fix check your pm.
