Awesome, I'll see what I can do on my end.

Hey man,if you need any help then just ask or something.I had my custom compass and team icons somewhere,I`ve gotta find them!!

RE: HUD and Icons - New Design Style? - DeltaStrikeOp - 2014-07-03

Awesome, thanks EpicZombie! Right now I'm still trying to finalize some designs. Perhaps you'd like to share the custom icons you have?

Here's my current design of the killstreak. It is the correct size for you to use immediately in game. CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 as usual ^-^

Please give some feedback on the icon. For now, it is a square icon because I can't make the icon without it taking up almost all of the 64x64 area I can work with. It is also expanded from the original design because I forgot how the objects group together when you shrink the image

I showed the design to a few of my friends who aren't into gaming, and they interpreted the armor as a frog, LOL. I can see why. I wanted to add the MOLLE webbing, but it didn't look right because of the dimensions I was given to work with.

Is it possible to do create it as svgs? Would be nice for changing/modifying it Tongue

RE: HUD and Icons - New Design Style? - DeltaStrikeOp - 2014-07-03

I have the svg files. If you'd like I can release them. I tend to like to first make the design in illustrator and then paste it into Photoshop to save as a png

RE: HUD and Icons - New Design Style? - ruler501 - 2014-07-03

I think it might be good for acr to have svg support at some point. Maybe 2.7.1 could implement that.

Otherwise the icon looks good.

RE: HUD and Icons - New Design Style? - DeltaStrikeOp - 2014-07-03

If we could support SVGs, then things like scopes wouldn't be pixelated anymore, which would be awesome. Most graphics/icons can then be made into higher quality images without any loss of quality. =D

Im actually pretty happy with these icons. The minimalist design makes it very simple without having to do too much work to make the icon look nice. Here's the "airstrike" icon I remade as the cluster grenades in CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0. These are all WIPs, but I think I'm slowly beginning to make a guideline for these graphics. Expect new icons to have a "feather" effect on the edges. Right now, they look really awkward when they pop up in game.

RE: HUD and Icons - New Design Style? - Victor - 2014-07-03

I think we can make the killfeed texture smaller by displaying weapons as text names instead of having weapon icons, just like Battlefield. This way, we only need to include special icons (juggernaut, headshot, critical, scope, etc.) in the texture.

RE: HUD and Icons - New Design Style? - DeltaStrikeOp - 2014-07-03

Agreed. I always thought that there were too many graphics in the kill feed. This would mean cutting out the obits, which were unnecessary imo anyways

RE: HUD and Icons - New Design Style? - Victor - 2014-07-03

We should not cut out the obits--we should just cut out the weapon images. This leaves icons for:
  • assist suicide?
  • critical
  • suicide?
  • friendly fire?
  • first blood
  • headshot
  • juggernaut?
  • revenge
