Maybe Making an AA12 and Saiga 12 - {KE}bluwarguy - 2013-10-15

If I make an AA12, we could have it as a full auto shotgun with less accuracy than regular shotgun, same damage, and 8 shotgun shells. then, we could have the saiga 12 replace the m1014 with same stats except 10 round clip. your thoughts?

Hm.. well, there needs to be a reason to use one weapon over the other. I love semi-auto shotguns, especially with a magazine. However, if the Saiga or AA12 gets added, there needs to be a difference in stats compared to the M1014 to prevent any one shotgun from being OP. For instance, maybe the M1014 should have less spread and more damage (longer barrel?) compared to the Saiga and AA12. The Saiga would be that inbetween shotgun, and the AA12 would be a weaker, less accurate automatic shotgun.

IMO, it shouldn't. There should still be a slot-loaded (or is the technical term breech-loaded?) shotgun that will have a major power boost compared to the magazine loaded ones.

Battlefield does a really good job with balancing out their pump action and semiauto shotguns (havent played with AA-12 frags yet tho). Their pump action has more damage compared to semiauto. I forget the other things too, but in the short time that i played bf3, I was relatively amazed at how not many people stuck to using just 1 weapon.

If a Saiga 12 gets implemented, either it would be completely useless or overpowered. The main reason why the M1014 can be so godly powerful is because of its terrible reload time. If you want to make a model, I suggest you make a FN P90 since that would be a good complement to the MP5 right now.

AA12 is pretty much useless, being too heavy for a general purpose weapon but lacking in firepower with one 20 round drum weighing as much as multiple 30 round M4/AR15 magazines. It would be ok if the speed gets nerfed to the same speed as a LMG like the M249 SAW while having slightly less power than the M1014. I wouldn't use it though.

No more ConterStrike fans here...? Remember how they did the balancing between the shotguns (ok, oneof them is much cheaper): One has high damage, one-hit kills in a short range, but is useless even in medium distances (pump-action).
The other does less damage, but is full auto and that because able to spray & pray more or less successfully in medium distances. Both have terrible reload times.
