May I introduce myself? - SomeName - 2012-04-14 Hi to all AC-R players/developers/fans! I'm a C/C++ hobby programmer from Germany who is sad about the lack of good open source games. AC-R is already one of the best open source games in the net. I found one bug while playing in Linux: Everytime I play AC-R on Linux it crashes X11 after playing a while. It is all in all a nice game. SomeName RE: May I introduce myself? - ------- - 2012-04-14 Yeah, I sometimes get this bug too; nothing responds, not even crtl-alt-backspace... critical bug :X RE: May I introduce myself? - Victor - 2012-04-14 If it crashes, at least take a screenshot and post it. RE: May I introduce myself? - ------- - 2012-04-14 How to take a screenshot if the whole system freezes? there is also nothing interesting to see, just the game itself that froze at one frame. I don't know if I can still get to tty1(Crtl-alt-F1), but I doubt this would be useful. Does the game write chrash logs? Or, does my system write logs that might be useful for this problem? I know system log tools exist, but I've not looked much into it yet. RE: May I introduce myself? - Victor - 2012-04-14 There's this key called "Print Screen". For me, it's beside the scroll lock. If that fails because the computer is actually frozen, there's this thing called a camera. On Windows, it displays debug information telling which line of code triggers it. RE: May I introduce myself? - ------- - 2012-04-15 Well, just take a random screenshot in ACR, and there is your debug-screenshot. Really nothing happens that could trigger this rather than time. Next time I play ACR, I'll check after what time it when freezes. And what displays Debug information? The BSOD? Or any useful log? RE: May I introduce myself? - SomeName - 2012-04-15 I tried to reproduce this error and dmesg says: Assertion failed in ../../../../../../../../drivers/2d/lnx/fgl/drm/kernel/hal_evergreen.c at line: 64 |
