Hey guys I just wanted to make this thread to tell you guys that we should start working as a community in order to make this game better. There's never that many people online nor that many servers so I just wanted to ask everyone to start being more active and even recommending this game to friends. Target those who have low-end PCs and netbook users. That's where the most players will come from but we also have to stay active otherwise they will leave. That is the reason why I quit playing ACR for a while, so lets do this.

Ok, pure data modding is very simple.Angel

Script modding is harder, due to several reasons :Confused
* Each game based on Cube have its subvariant of the CubeScript.
* The source mods can have their own subvariant
* Script modding is mainly based on cfg files of the config folder and it isn't easy to what is in each file nor how or when they are launched
* Available CubeScript commands often need correct conditions to work, which depend on the command and aren't alway easy to understand.
* The documentation isn't alway easy to understand

And it doesn't make possible significant changes of the gameplay.Sad

Source modding is more polyvalent but is also hard and can cause compatibility problems. It need C++ skills (C++, not C nor Java) and, like in Script modding, it isn't easy to understand what is in each file.

In short, when it's not pure data modding, modding ACR (or an other game based on Cube) isn't easy, mainly due to the documentation, which, often, is missing, hard to understand or incomplete.Sad
