Yes, the bullets can penetrate map models with no cost (and it actually saves CPU cycles this way). The bullets can penetrate players with the cost of 10 meters of distance, and distorts the ray. It can bounce off of geometry at cost of 15 meters, and cannot be done after penetration or traveling 25 meters.
