According to what I understood, the Irrlicht Engine uses for the maps the Quake formats. The maps of these formats are compiled map.
Apparently, the Irrlicht Engine, like ioquake3 is as fluid as the Cube Engine with maps that can be as big and complex as the Cube 2 Engine ones. The only problem is the map creation/edition need hard to use external tools. They was confident : "Only some thousands of bricks, and it will look like something !"
More a community is little, more the "others will do it" way to think is dangerous for it. |
