RE: Neoaxis game engine
I think the problem with CryEngine is that it needs DirectX11 by hardware, doesnt it?
Anyway, imo Irrlicht is better than Cube2 because of: 1. Dynamic lights/shadows, http://sourceforge.net/apps/gallery/irrl...temId=1378 2. Nice texture stuff, look here: http://sourceforge.net/apps/gallery/irrl...temId=1520 3. All the effects are "out of the box", fe particle system (smoke grenades!) or water 4. Supports animated objects and nearly all the formats around http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/features...tedformats including md3/2, so many models could be reused On the other hand maps have to be created with an exern tool, like irrEdit ( http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/tools/ ) or one of the numerous quake map editors They also have both opengl(sdl, I think) and directx support, so people with faster pcs might use the improvement tool someone mentioned here in the forum some time ago. Dont get me wrong, Cube2 is great, too ![]() The C Programming Language: combines the flexibility of assembly language with the power of assembly language.
