Shotguns
Might I suggest two shotguns, one (a primary) semi-automatic with shot and another (a pump) with slugs?

RE: Shotguns
That there was a marked difference can be divided into pump-action shotgun and a shotgun with a magazine-type boar(vepr)-12 (http://www.molot.biz/product-e/molot205.php). In the latter case the difference in the speed of reloading box magazine for 8 cartridges faster to insert, versus you can insert one cartridge in a tube.

RE: Shotguns
Only problem is that box magazine shotguns are notoriously unreliable and heavy, both of which are bad traits to have in a CQB situation. I don't think a pump action shotgun is necessary now that the M1014 has been buffed to be extremely powerful.

Agreed. We've been working on balancing the M1014 for a long time now.

Add weapons failures due to overheating (time) and misfires (random)?

RE: Shotguns
I actually suggested adding jams at one point but it was dropped because 1. weapons rarely fail and 2. it ruins the gameplay by adding a random aspect that is based on luck.

We could have the RPG be randomly pointing backwards lol.

Not if it only applies to some weapons (rpg f.e.) and is non-permanent so that reloading solves the problem. It might help to balance gameplay as a weapon that has a, lets say, 5% chance of failing is less attractive.

RE: Shotguns
Battlefield has the Hawk 12, a pump shotgun with a detachable magazine.

I haven't played BF4 to understand how DICE balanced it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that some things work for some games, while others work for other games.

ACR seems to be doing well with the M1014 as it is.
