Most routers block unknown incoming packets because they don't know where to send them. That's why you have to port-forward to a specific computer.

According to what I understood, or routers block too exotic packets, or don't understand to what computer send the packet from the master server for the game server.

In both cases, set toself a server properly is difficult or impossible.

I tried several times to set a server but it never worked. However, when I use the client, it connect to the master server without problem and, when there is a game server properly set, I alway can connect without problem.

There's still players of this game. Just for now, there aren't many active servers. There was one server that did stay on for a long time, Bird Technologies or something like that. That sadly went away a while ago.
