An unsolvable problem still remains: the dot will be lighted as if it were part of the weapon (walk into a dark part of a map and it will differ).

Also, shouldn't the red dot be pointing towards the same direction as the gun? As you aim down the sights, it becomes visible too early.

how do you mean? the red dot is a laser pointer that goes onto the perspex, it is there permanantly. i havent found a way to give it its own lighting because it is part of the actual eotech model itself, its inside the dot sight so it is relatively hidden until you aim. i dont think there is any way to make it appear during the steady unless you want to make some sort of script involving "when steady aim use image "example red dot" at center", similar to the muzzle flash, an image on black, if you get me :/

Also, vic, i think you should see this video. I play project reality, and when you aim down sights, the EOTech reticle is stuck in the center of the screen, while the weapon still moves around. Padge1's reticle is more like the ARMA 3 system (only watched alpha, never played previous ARMAs), where the dot/reticle actually moves in relation to weapon movement.

If you observe this video, the red dot clearly points towards infinity. It is projected parallel to the sight, so it should point towards where the bullets will go.

However, the model has the dot remaining fixed. This is not correct, since the sight is not aimed towards the right of the gun.

Because the projection is at infinity and aligned with the sight, the red dot above indicates that the sight is pointed towards the right of the gun.

Oh, I get what you're saying now Vic. Padge1, notice how we can see the EOTech reticle in non-ADS mode. IRL, EOTechs (or EOTech knockoffs or any type of reflex sight) have non-parallax feature, which, as shown in the video, you can move around your eye, and the "dot" will still stay on the same "point". I've never messed with EOTechs nor Aimpoints/Trijicons b/c they cost so freaking much. And knockoffs are tacticool, but i like the real deal, which is why i got a leatherman. =)

Finally I get what Vic is saying.

Eh, it's a small thing. LOL, if we're critiquing about parallax in sights, can i also say that the EOTech is a bit small and kinda high? LOL. I still like the SCAR model though!

eh, i'd put this off Padge1. I still wanna see a DTA SRS Covert model. That or the USP replacement (Glock or Mk. 23)

I still how the "non-parallax feature" actually works. If it actually projects parallel light, shouldn't the dot become invisible if you are not viewing it directly?

EDIT: I searched it, and the light is actually focused at a fixed distance (not infinity).

Yeah, it's basically a dot/reticule that only shows when you look at it the correct way.

You can search up reflex sights on wikipedia to get a better understanding. Also, Trijicon, EOTech, Aimpoint, Kimber, ITL, and all of those well known sight companies use the same tech.

Aw padge1, I like the sight! The EOTech is a good HWS for the game, and it makes the SCAR H the best weapon in game because we can actually have good sight picture of the target compared to iron sights.

I request a HK416 with the EOTech if you ever release it.

Eh, the EOTech thing is a very minor thing. I have friends who airsoft with fake painted on red dots that are basically the same thing, and you have to align the dot with the front sight post for accuracy.

But yeah, don't let this get you down! LOL, I'll wait for the DTA SRS Covert and the upgraded pistol instead of a better EOTech model. ^__^

haha it sucks, im trying to get it right on my own, no one is making suggestions towards it or answering my queries on using the whole image like the muzzle flash idea :L its, "its not right" "not right yet" or debates on how an eotech accually works :L if people dont really care for nit picking and pin pointed realism like me ( to some extent) then they can have the eotech on whatever model they want :L ive made the m203 for the rpg aswell but it isnt alling me to use iron sights unless i fire the rpg :/ strange
