Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system?
Hi all,

While playing ACR, i found it EXTREMELY hard to keep track of my friendlies.

Here's an idea that I suggested to @ruler501 a while back:
use the already implemented "escort" and "defend" tags to mark where friendlies are. This would help out in CQB a lot of times where you round a corner and can't positively ID what's in your sights. This would also be similar to the IFF system in Halo 1. This would also mirror "psychic" mode, except only for friendlies (btw, I really dislike that mode. It ruins the suspense of CQB)

notice the green arrows above each friendly spartan
Also, the IFF system wouldn't be used for "hardcore" mode.

A more advanced (and elegant) way of implementing an IFF system would be to overhaul the Recon Perk and create a spotting system such as in Battlefield and Ghost Recon, where if your buddies see an enemy, a red arrow would point to where the baddie is. When your buddy loses visual contact with the baddie, the red triangle would go away. This might be too advanced to implement, but hey, gotta make work for you devs. =) This would basically be like the Recon perk, where if you see a baddie, he will show up as a red colored shape, except on your screen instead of just the minimap. You would still see where your friendlies are though. Basically, it would be the "psychic" mode, except you would have to see your target before there's a red arrow pointing to them.

It would be awesome if there were special shapes like in Ghost Recon or Arma 3 to mark where your friend and foes are.

Thank you all for reading! I do think this is a bit too OP, but hey, knowledge is power! Give me your ideas regarding this topic in the comments!

LOL Victor. Yes, you could do that. A bit annoying to do that though to get the map up. and basically in your face.

Well, another option is "Show names above players" so that the friendly names show up when you see the player (just like Call of Duty), but we need to have the text working properly.

Eeeh, I dont think you need that. We can see the player names on the bottom left of the screen.

No need to clutter the HUD
