Hm, while testing shots to kill with @dm.mossberg590a1, we found things to be acceptable. The shotgun is still not quite as powerful as the one in Halo, but acceptable to the point at which I would finally consider using the M1014. I would rather there be much higher recoil and to have more damage, but that might make it too unbalanced.

In terms of realism however, the M1014 has more spread than the severely cut down Serbu Super-Shorty. Damage should be around Mossy's calculations of around 2-4.5 times the damage of the pistol if an entire shell is on target.

It takes two shots at medium range to kill someone. A burst of an AK47 can kill in one burst at any range. The MP7 can kill 5-6 enemies in one magazine if you hold down the trigger. It would be unfair if the shotgun can't one hit kill at close range at least. It takes some serious skill to get within 5 meters of somebody especially in bigger maps. 5 meters is 15 feet. That's Nerf gun range. Also you can't spam a shotgun. You can't. You would run out of ammo in 2 seconds and you will be shredded. Its so hard to reload a shotgun that you have to take it slow and reload after every shot/couple of shots.

I personally think even this spread mod gives shotguns a disservice (two shots at 7 yards to kill? really?) but it's decent for a shotgun, especially one that has such a fast firing rate. Reloading the shotgun is always a pain in the arse, and it still takes a very skilled gamer to know when to reload and when to cut out the reload. Otherwise you would be dead in 2-5 seconds when you spam a magazine and try to reload.

Even if this shotgun mod is done, the MP7 (model for MP5) and Scar L (Scar H model for the M16 with EOtech) is way more powerful especially when I mod down the muzzle flash. It is way easier to crouch and spam and massacre tons of enemies with these models. There is actually zero recoil with these weapons with Hands and Steady. Most experienced gamers mod their guns to be superior anyway so at least the shotgun gives a beginning player at least a starting chance.

LOL, thanks for reminding me to change the weapon models. I got the Black SCAR as the Mk.16 and the tan scar as the Mk. 17, since Rangers (LEAD THE WAY!) only use the Mk. 17, and they have it in tan.
