//Remark: Allthough I think that Darkplaces would be a better engine, porting it from Cube 1 to 2 would be difficult enough...I never looked at the Quake/Darkplaces source, it seems to be the best (?) FOSS engine around concerning gameplay and quality, but Cube has clear advantages that make me hope that RealEclipse will work. Anyway, why not talking to that other guy with AC 2.0 to avoid two almost similar games to be developed both? Also, have a look at the modell/textures links - some of them are really great, mybe usable for this game, too? The C Programming Language: combines the flexibility of assembly language with the power of assembly language.

Well, I might have some trouble finding time to work on this project (but I might be able to do it over the summer break). If that is the case, their project is likely to succeed before ours.

Of course, but as I have never worked on a real game before, I simply do not know where to start...
![]() What about the weapon modells? They look interesting, although ours are quite good, too. Just an idea, of course. Anyway, we should talk to him if we really start. It is really annoying if two (OSS-) communities spend their freetime for doing nearly the same. Well, I'm busy with exams until June 21, but I'll try to finish up the next ACR release soon. Then maybe I can start on Real Eclipse during the summer.

I'll keep up with ACR for at least a while after you switch over to Real Eclipse to make sure it doesn't die. At least until Real Eclipse takes off.

guys i just got red eclipse but whenever i play it says 'Fatal Signal 11'. I really would like to know if this will happen in Real Eclipse and if there is a way to fix it help would be appreciated. I really want to play Real Eclipse but I hope the error doesn't get in my way of doing it.
